Kitchen Assistant

Are you interested in assisting the Chef in providing a comprehensive catering service? We are looking for an individual with a passion for catering to provide a high-quality service for our customers.

Responsibilities

• All employees are expected to comply with statutory requirements and SHC’s policies and procedures.
• To treat all colleagues, service users, and visitors with dignity and respect, and adhere to SHC’s policies on equal opportunities and diversity.
• To be responsible for your own health and safety and that of your colleagues.
• Be compliant with the Health and Safety Act and any relevant EC directives.
• To always be an ambassador for SHC.
• Work in partnership with the Data Protection Act.
• Carry out any other duties.

• Assist in preparation, presentation and serving of meals within the Home.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen area and utensils.
• Follow guidance and instruction set by the Chef and Home Manager.
• Adhere to the Hazard Analysis System.
• Maintain a high standard for all residents.
• Ensure daily completion of Hazard Analysis.
• Rotating supplies to reduce waste and making sure goods are stored correctly.
• Ensure security of the kitchen in the absence of the Chef Manager.
• Report any faults to Chef Manager as soon as possible.
• Attend all training meetings.

• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work and demonstrate understanding of safe practices.
