This week, we are bidding farewell to Bea, who has been a valued member of our team since joining us on a temporary basis in September last year. Bea came to us as a gap year placement, bringing her fresh perspective, creativity, and eagerness to contribute. Over the last few months, she has been involved in supporting our administration and various project needs, and her presence will certainly be missed.
During her time here at Sammons, Bea has been a fantastic addition to our Farnham team. She’s shown great enthusiasm, ideas, and a positive attitude in everything she has done. Her hard work and dedication have not only helped improve our internal processes but also brought a vibrant energy to the team.
Before she left, we asked Bea to reflect on her time with us and share a bit about her experience …
1. What made you decide to take a gap year before starting university?
“After finishing college, I wanted to take a year out to travel, visit my friends and do some work before going to university.”
2. What kinds of tasks or projects have you been involved in during your time here?
“Whilst I’ve worked here, I have spent a lot of time data cleansing and mapping on our CRM, providing additional back-office support to our consultants, and I have also filled in temporary bookings on site at some of our clients. Additionally, I have helped to make seasonal gifts for the temps and branded merchandise for the team’s business expos.”
3. What new skills or experiences have you gained from working with us?
“Through working in the office, I have gained experience in office work and become more confident meeting and working with new people by filling in and working on site with clients.”
4. Do you have a highlight or memorable moment from your time here?
“I really enjoyed working on the on brand presents for the temps in the lead up to Christmas and other creative projects.”
5. How do you think this experience will help you as you move on to university and beyond?
“This experience will give me more confidence going into university and has helped me increase my baseline knowledge of different software that will be useful in other jobs in the future.”
6. What advice would you give to someone thinking about taking a gap year and doing temporary work?
“Doing temp work is a good way to gain experience in a variety of environments and having flexibility to travel and do other things you enjoy.”
7. What are you most looking forward to about starting university?
“I’m looking forward to spending lots of time being creative and meeting like-minded people.”
8. Do you have any final words for the team before you head off on your next adventure?
“Thank you for making me feel so welcomed here.”
Bea will be heading off to go interrailing before starting university in September to study Jewellery and Silversmithing HND. We’re proud to have been able to provide Bea with valuable experience during her year out, and we’re confident that the skills she’s gained will serve her well in the future.
From all of us here at Sammons, thank you for all your hard work, Bea! We wish you all the best in this exciting new chapter of your life, and we look forward to seeing everything you will accomplish.
