Community Matters

Our contributions to a world with no waste.

Our shareholders and management fully recognise the importance of Environmental, Social, and Governance factors and at Sammons, we support good causes, particularly local to our offices.

The Group actively works to ensure a distinct and inclusive culture, bringing motivated and skilled people together to develop collectively for the future.

Correspondingly, Sammons puts considerable emphasis on its staffing development along with having a strong emphasis on creating internal promotion opportunities. Individual team members are fully supported to achieve relevant industry and professional qualifications, with a number of staff currently undertaking both Recruitment & Training Confederation (REC) and accountancy body qualifications.

Since acquiring Sammons, shareholders Harriet and Martyn Smith have made significant workforce investment, moving two of the current three offices into more modern, energy-efficient locations and completely refurbishing the third, while ensuring teams also benefit from improved ergonomics through better desks, seating and lighting.

The Group fully recognises that climate change is a critical business issue. While the recruitment industry does not pose any particular environmental risks, Sammons is highly mindful to manage effectively its energy consumption. Most of the Sammons offices are located conveniently for town centres and train stations, offering easy accessibility via foot or public transport for clients, candidates and staff. Martyn Smith, the Chairman of Sammons belongs to https://chapterzero.org.uk/, which usefully provides access to its knowledge hub helping Sammons deal with the issue.

The Group has a particular emphasis on strong governance, with the board of directors meeting monthly, being focussed on strategic and financial progress, in addition to the Group’s impact on wider stakeholders. In particular, there is a strong emphasis at Board level on health & safety and employee welfare, along with ensuring a programme of staff communications.
