This November, our teams have been proud to take part in Operation Christmas Child, a global initiative led by Samaritan’s Purse. The project encourages individuals and organisations to fill shoeboxes with thoughtful gifts and essential items for children living in difficult circumstances across the world.

By joining this initiative, Sammons is not only spreading festive cheer but also reinforcing the importance of giving back and making a difference; values that underpin both our professional and personal ethos.

What Is Operation Christmas Child?

Operation Christmas Child is a long-running global campaign that delivers shoeboxes packed with toys, school supplies, hygiene items, and messages of hope to children in need. Since its inception in 1990, the initiative has reached over 200 million children in more than 170 countries. Each shoebox, however small it may seem, represents a moment of joy and a reminder that someone, somewhere, cares. For many children, this is the first Christmas gift they’ve ever received, a small gesture with an immeasurable emotional impact.

How Sammons Is Getting Involved

This year, we’ve rallied our teams to create and send Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes filled with small but meaningful presents. From soft toys and crayons to toiletries, gloves and socks, every contribution helps brighten a child’s day.

Our offices across Farnham and Hastings are serving as collection points where team members can drop off completed shoeboxes. Once gathered, the boxes are distributed through Samaritan’s Purse to children across the globe, reaching areas affected by poverty, conflict, and natural disasters. This initiative brought our teams together in the spirit of unity, kindness, and shared purpose; reminding us that recruitment, at its best, is about people helping people.

Why Giving Back Matters to Sammons

As a people-focused organisation, we understand the power of connection. Helping others is an extension of the work we do every day, matching individuals and businesses to create better futures. Supporting Operation Christmas Child is a natural fit for us, aligning with our belief in community responsibility and the positive impact that collective action can achieve.

Participating in charitable projects like this also reinforces the values we promote across our teams – empathy, collaboration, and integrity. These are the same principles that guide how we support our candidates, clients, and colleagues.
