Cleaning Assistant

Responsibilities

• All employees are expected to comply with statutory requirements and SHC’s policies and procedures.
• To treat all colleagues, service users, and visitors with dignity and respect, and adhere to SHC’s policies on equal opportunities and diversity.
• To be responsible for your own health and safety and that of your colleagues, in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act (1974) and relevant legislation.
• To always be an ambassador.
• To attend staff meetings as required.
• To comply with the Data Protection Act.

• To work in designated areas as prescribed on a rotating basis and as instructed by the Home or Regional Manager.
• To vacuum residents rooms, the corridors and all communal areas within the home to a high standard.
• To be respectful and aware of personal belongings.
• Ensure residents are safe whilst carrying out cleaning tasks.
• Clean toilets, basins, ensuites and bathrooms.
• Deep cleaning rooms.

• Recognise resident’s rooms and personal belongings are personal and private.
• Compliant with Health and Safety and COSH regulations.
• Ability to work as a strong team member.
• Demonstrate safe practices.
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
• Consistent polite and courteous manner towards residents, staff and visitors.
• Completion of mandatory accident book and report any incident to senior staff.
