TIG Welder / Fabricator

Responsibilities

  • To ensure all TIG Welding projects are completed in conformance with specifications and set time scales
  • Fabrication and welding of vacuum chambers, components and sub-assemblies as required in line with planned manufacturing operations to defined quality standards and timescales.
  • Work closely with the Lead Technician to enable welding and fabrication objectives to be completed
  • Complete projects in accordance with planned schedules aligning fabrication and welding workload with machine shop operations
  • Quality Control evaluations. Set up and running of leak checking operations using mass spectrometry equipment.
Education
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in TIG Welding
Skills
  • Skills in TIG Welding – stainless steel and Mu Metal
  • Established skillset in metal fabrication and welding including the use of precision measuring equipment
  • Able to read specified drawings
  • Comfortable in working to deadlines set by the Lead Technician
  • Basic knowledge of turning is desired
  • Follow all Health & Safety regulations
  • Good constructive communication
  • Flexible and able to adapt to short term changes
  • Supports project completion through problem solving
