Mechanical Fitter/Engineer

A fantastic opportunity has become available for a skilled Mechanical Fitter/Engineer to join a dynamic maintenance team working on a range of heavy machinery and plant equipment. This is a hands-on role ideally suited to someone with solid mechanical experience and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

• Job Type: Full-time, Temporary (Temp to Perm potential)
• Salary: £24.00p/h
• Working Hours: Full time
• Location: East Sussex

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out mechanical maintenance and repair on a range of mobile and fixed plant equipment
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and resolve issues across hydraulic systems and material handling machinery
• Follow established safety procedures and site processes to ensure safe and efficient work
• Maintain records of maintenance activity and ensure all work is completed to a high standard
• Work independently or as part of a team to support daily operations and reduce downtime

Skills, Experience, and Training Requirements:

• Proven experience in mechanical fitting or engineering roles
• Familiarity with heavy mobile plant and material handling systems
• Hands-on experience with hydraulic systems
• Ability to follow processes while taking initiative and demonstrating a proactive mindset
• Willingness to work across a variety of older and modern machinery
• Strong work ethic and commitment to safety
