Warehouse Operative

Aldershot, Hampshire | £28000 - £30000 per annum | Posted 2 days ago

Our client is seeking a Warehouse Operative to support the smooth running of the stores department. This role requires a self-motivated individual who can work independently, ensuring that goods are handled efficiently, safely and accurately. Punctuality and attention to detail are key, along with holding a clean manual driving licence and a valid counterbalance forklift licence.

  • Hours: 40 hours per week – Monday to Thursday 7:00–16:30, Friday early finish

Key Responsibilities:
  • Despatching stock to/from customers, toolmakers, and suppliers
  • Arranging daily courier collections
  • Relocating and booking stock into correct locations
  • Controlling stock levels through cycle counts, FIFO and shelf-life monitoring
  • Issuing consumables and non-stock items
  • Assisting with kitting of works orders
  • Maintaining accurate electronic and paper records in line with procedures
  • Ensuring cleanliness, tidiness and safety of all storage areas
  • Supporting loading and unloading of delivery vehicles
  • Managing recycling of cardboard waste using the baler
  • Driving company vehicles for collections, deliveries, and transfers
  • Providing support to the Goods-In department when required

Experience and Requirements:
  • Previous stores or warehouse experience
  • Full, clean UK manual driving licence
  • Counterbalance Forklift Truck accredited licence (B1)
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Computer literacy (MS Office; knowledge of Sage X3 or similar is desirable)
  • Methodical, accurate and safety-conscious
  • Flexible and able to prioritise in a fast-paced environment
  • Physically fit and capable of manual handling (lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, standing, sitting)
