Our client, a respected and growing organisation, is seeking a hands-on and technically skilled Production Technical Supervisor to support and lead daily operations on their busy production floor. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced supervisor with strong PCB and electro-mechanical assembly knowledge to drive productivity, quality, and continuous improvement across multiple manufacturing lines.

The ideal candidate will be an engaged floor-based leader who can motivate teams, uphold workmanship standards, and ensure smooth workflow while maintaining a safe, organised environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise day-to-day production activities for SMT, through-hole, and electro-mechanical assembly lines.
  • Maintain production schedules, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion of customer orders.
  • Allocate work assignments, track work orders, and adjust priorities as required.
  • Verify that assembly operations follow established procedures, work instructions, and quality standards.
  • Lead, train, and motivate a team of production operators and technicians.
  • Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive working environment.
  • Conduct daily startup meetings covering goals, schedule updates, and quality expectations.
  • Support employee development through coaching, cross-training, and regular performance feedback.
  • Ensure products meet IPC-A-610 and customer-specific workmanship standards.
  • Work with Quality and Engineering to resolve process issues, non-conformances, and rework.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate production records ensuring full traceability.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, optimised material flow, and waste reduction.
  • Assist in testing and validating new tools, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and ESD-safe production area.
  • Enforce safety policies in line with OSHA and company requirements.
  • Conduct regular checks on equipment and safety compliance.

Skills, Experience, and Training Requirements
  • 3–5 years’ experience in electronics manufacturing, specifically PCB or electro-mechanical assembly.
  • 1–3 years’ experience in a lead or supervisory role.
  • Strong understanding of SMT, through-hole, and box-build assembly processes.
  • Familiarity with IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001.
  • Ability to read assembly drawings, schematics, and BOMs.
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems for work order control.
  • Computer literate with good understanding of common production software.
  • Hands-on leadership style, visible and active on the production floor.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
