Installation & Service Technician

Our client is looking to recruit an experienced Installation & Service Technician to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive, professional environment that offers ongoing training, development, and long-term career progression.

The role involves working across a varied client base within both domestic and commercial environments, carrying out installation, servicing, and maintenance activities to recognised industry and company standards. This is a hands-on, team-based position that also requires confidence, independence, and a proactive approach when working on your own initiative.

What’s on Offer?

• Job type: Full-time, permanent
• Salary: £38,000 – £42,000 per annum (DOE)
• Location: Hastings
• Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.30am – 5.00pm (30-minute unpaid lunch break)
• Holiday entitlement: 22 days plus UK statutory Bank Holidays, increasing with service

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out servicing, installation, fault-finding, and rectification across a range of technical systems in line with industry and company standards.
• Complete comprehensive reports following all site visits.
• Participate in standby duties as part of a structured team rota.
• Work across both domestic and commercial sites, adapting to varying client requirements.
• Adhere to company policies, procedures, and guidelines as set out in the Employee Handbook, particularly those relating to Health and Safety.
• Undertake all training and development required to perform the role effectively.
• Successfully complete the 6-month probationary period and participate in annual performance appraisals.
• Carry out any other reasonable duties commensurate with the role, as requested by senior staff.

Skills, Experience, and Training Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience within a technical installation and service environment.
• Experience working in industrial, commercial, and domestic settings on systems of varying sizes.
• Proven ability to identify, diagnose, and rectify faults efficiently.
• Experience servicing systems to recognised industry standards.
• Familiarity with a range of manufacturers’ equipment and multi-system environments.
• Fluent English, both written and spoken, with strong literacy and numeracy skills.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to correspond clearly and professionally with colleagues, clients, and external organisations.
• Basic IT skills, including MS Word and MS Outlook.
• Full UK driving licence.

Desirable:

• IP-based systems knowledge
• Relevant technical certifications
• Access platform or height-related training
• Asbestos awareness
• Valid industry card (minimum 6 months remaining)
