Our client is seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanical Assembly Technician to join their team on a full-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to take the next step in their engineering career within a high technology manufacturing environment.
This role involves precision assembly, specialist wiring, and testing of complex instrumentation, working to high quality standards in a clean and controlled setting.

Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out precision mechanical assembly and specialist wiring of instrumentation
- Perform electrical testing and ensure products meet required specifications
- Maintain ‘clean’ working standards for sensitive components and sub-assemblies
- Support the transition of new products from development into production
- Create and update manufacturing instructions and documentation
- Maintain accurate records, including test data and quality control information
- Ensure all work is completed to required timescales and quality standards
Skills, Experience, and Requirements:
- Experience in mechanical assembly within a manufacturing or engineering environment
- Ability to carry out precision hand fitting and assembly work
- Basic electrical wiring and testing knowledge
- Good attention to detail and ability to follow technical instructions
- Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Office
- Ability to work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working with UHV (Ultra High Vacuum) systems or similar high-spec equipment
- Background in a low-volume, high-spec or customised manufacturing environment
- Understanding of electron or ion optics principles
Qualifications:
- Level 3 Mechanical Engineering or similar qualification
- HNC/HND/Degree in Mechanical or Electromechanical Engineering (desirable)
- Apprenticeship or time-served experience considered
