Purchasing Scheduler

Our client is seeking an experienced and driven Purchasing and Planning Manager to join their team based in Hailsham. This is a fantastic opportunity for a senior professional with a strong background in advanced manufacturing to play a key role in driving operational excellence and supporting business growth.

This position is ideal for someone who can combine strategic thinking with hands-on leadership, ensuring efficient production planning, purchasing, and scheduling within a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team, driving performance and accountability
• Oversee production planning, purchasing, and scheduling functions
• Ensure on-time delivery targets are met for both customers and suppliers
• Develop and implement scalable processes to support business growth
• Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives across operations
• Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Quality, Finance, and Sales teams
• Contribute to strategic decision-making with operational and commercial insight
• Travel to client meetings (occasional)

Skills, Experience, and Requirements:

• Minimum 10 years’ experience in purchasing and planning within a low volume, high complexity manufacturing environment
• At least 5 years in a leadership or management role
• Strong track record in production planning and procurement
• Excellent organisational, communication, and decision-making skills
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment

• Experience with advanced manufacturing technologies
• Exposure to continuous improvement methodologies

• Degree educated or qualified by experience
