Our client is looking for a sharp, organised, and solutions-driven Transport Planner to join their busy logistics team on a 12-month fixed term contract. This is a pivotal role at the centre of daily operations, where your planning expertise will keep deliveries on track, drivers supported, and customers satisfied.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, schedule, and optimise daily delivery routes to maximise efficiency and service levels
  • Coordinate vehicle movements and allocate driver workloads effectively
  • Act as the main point of contact for drivers, offering guidance and resolving issues in real time
  • Work closely with sales, stock, and warehouse teams to ensure seamless day-to-day operations
  • Communicate proactively with customers regarding delivery times, changes, and updates
  • Monitor transport performance, identify challenges, and implement practical solutions
  • Ensure full compliance with driver hours, transport legislation, and health and safety standards
Skills, Experience, and Training Requirements:
  • Proven experience in transport planning, logistics coordination, or a similar role
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise in a fast-moving environment
  • Confident communication skills, able to liaise effectively with drivers, customers, and internal teams
  • Experience using transport planning systems (Sage, Mandata, or similar desirable)
  • Solid understanding of transport compliance, driver hours, and regulatory requirements
  • A calm, solutions-focused mindset when plans inevitably change
