Our client is seeking a Trainee Machine Operator to join its production team on a full-time, night shift basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable and hardworking individual looking to start or develop a career in manufacturing.
This role is suited to someone who enjoys hands on work in a fast paced, time critical environment and is willing to learn how to operate production machinery safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:
- Set up assigned machines at the start of each shift
- Carry out all required safety checks before production begins
- Operate machinery to manufacture corrugated packaging products
- Monitor machines during production runs to ensure optimum performance
- Perform quality checks and optimise throughput to meet production targets
- Record set-up times, run times, and downtime using shop floor systems
- Maintain, clean, and recalibrate machinery at the end of each shift
- Operate pallet jacks and other production equipment as required
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment
- Prevent the build-up of waste materials in production areas
- Report progress, issues, defects, near misses, or health & safety concerns to management
- Assist on other machines during busy periods when required
Skills, Experience, and Training Requirements:
- Good awareness of health and safety practices
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately
- Strong attention to detail with an understanding of quality standards
- Basic numeracy skills, including measuring and calculations
- Reliable with good timekeeping and attendance
- Basic IT skills and confidence using technology
- Willingness to learn and undertake training

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE JOB
Manufacturing of corrugated cases is a busy, time critical process which requires hardworking, reliable individuals. You will be required to run assigned machines which operate and produce various types of boxes. You may also
be required to assist on other machines during busy periods. This position requires a substantial amount of
manual handling and standing for long periods of time. You will need to be physically fit and have good health and safety awareness.
MAIN DUTIES OF THE POST
1 Set up machines at start of shift to prepare for the workload
2 Perform all necessary safety checks at the start of each shift
3 Perform testing of quality throughput and optimize throughput during the production run to hit targets
4 Report on set up, run time and down time through the shop floor data
5 Monitor machines during every run to ensure optimum running speeds
6 Maintain, clean and recalibrate machines at the end of each shift
7 Operate pallet jacks and other production equipment
8 Always maintain a safe working environment and ensure there is no buildup of waste materials
9 Provide relevant information relating to progress to the Production Manager
10 Report and defects, near misses or health and safety issues to the Production Manager
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1 To maintain standards in line with the requirements of the job and any policies in place
2 To undertake any duties and responsibilities as may be determined by a director from time to time
